Chimwe nechimwe lyrics and translation

Gore riye rakauya nenhamo
That year came with the struggles
Chimwe ne chimwe chine nguva yacho
Each and everything has a time
Tichabira rwizi mai mwana
We will cross the river my wife

Chingoomera uripo mangwana zvinonaka
Persist, tomorrow it will be ok
Dura riya uchariona razara
The granary will be full
Tichapanda mhodzi mai mwana
We will break seeds mother of my kids
Nzara mumba mangu ndikafunga kachana
Hunger in my house I think of far

Chimwe nechimwe chine nguva yacho
Each and everything has a time
Tichabira rwizi mai mwana
We will cross the river
Chingoomera uripo mangwana zvinonaka
Persist tomorrow it will work out
Dura riye uchariona razara
The granary will be full
Tichapanda mhodzi mai mwana

Tseketsa yakasara
The hen that was left
Takaikangira mudhumeni chikwere chikasara nhoko
We fried it for the agric officer the fowl run left with droppings
Kana pfuma yenhaka
Even the inheritance
Yakaperera mukuripa ngozi yakasiwa nababa
Ended in appeasing vengeful spirits left by father

Ndaiti tichabereka mwana anosara achitevera gwara
Thought we would have a child to follow in our footsteps
Mimba ikaramba kubata
But the pregnancy didn’t take
Ndaiti tichabereka mwana anosara achitevera gwara
Thought we would have a child to follow in our footsteps
Mimba ikaramba kubata
But the pregnancy didn’t take

Hama dzikauraya mombe
Relatives killed a cow
Kutomhanya nebakatwa kunoita mucheka dzafa
Ran with a knife to finish off a dead thing
Hama dzikauraya mombe
Relatives killed a cow
Kutomhanya nebakatwa kunoita mucheka dzafa
Ran with a knife to finish of dead a thing

Shungu dzirege dziputike

Buritsa misodzi zvireruke
Cry and let off the burden
Ukawira pasi usimuke
If you fall rise up
