Of Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse

Life Hack: In the event of a zombie apocalypse and you find yourself being chased by a horde intent on eating your brains…

Simply take out your phone and ask them to take your picture as your one last wish. You know, like how a death row inmate gets one final meal before execution.

Zombie trying to use phone

Here’s the trick: the zombies won’t be able to operate the phone, giving you just enough time and distraction to slip away… suspend your disbelief for a moment.

Why would this work?

Most modern smartphones use capacitive touchscreens, which detect the tiny electrical signals from your body. Your finger carries a small charge that alters the screen’s electrostatic field, allowing it to register taps and swipes.

A zombie, being, well, dearly departed, would lack the bioelectric activity needed to interact with the screen. Add to that, their famously poor motor coordination and limited cognitive function, and you’ve got yourself a perfect distraction.

Of course, if you’re dealing with some hybrid, semi-intelligent undead daywalker… then it might be best to skip the experiment and… run.

And if one day your phone screen stops responding to your touch, you may want to take a long, hard look in the mirror… just to make sure you’re not turning into one yourself…

I’d say the world is already full of brain dead zombies. Who are using their phones everywhere, all the time, even when not needed 😉
