Of Coffee With Flowers Named After The Sun

If you were having coffee with me, I would welcome you to my corner of the internet and offer you a spot in the sun… Its summer but I think whoever is in charge of the weather systems must have mixed up the memo.

Winter is supposed to be over but its like we are experiencing all the seasons in a single day, it will start sunny, then windy and from nowhere cloudy with a chance of rain and then suddenly freezing cold and broody, one is constantly taking their jacket on and off..

On that jacket tip do people who make these ever consider how people with long hair are supposed to wear these and the struggle one encounters in putting the hoodie up…

I kinda feel like a sunflower… could be the yellow… I ran into a fun “internet fact” about sunflowers, apparently when there is no sun, sunflowers face each other, I doubt the veracity of that fact but its still a beautiful idea 🌻

If you were having coffee with me, I would tell you that I was actually thinking of creating a picture of me looking at myself because I could do with some sun, but also, I am my own sun, and fire too, who needs the sun when you have fire…

So I managed to survive the week without going into town and I am happy to let you know that the stain in my jeans finally came off (coffee with dirty jeans).. I am so not looking forward to my next sojourn into town but these things that gotta be done. Police have increased their clampdown on illegal taxis amidst the concerns over the rising number of robberies and assaults perpetrated by operators of illegal taxis who prey on desperate travellers

I once shared about my experience in a pirate taxi in Ride Sharing In A Toyota Wish I understand how people ought to travel in only in designated public transport but what are we to do when that isn’t available, and simply arresting pirate taxis only treats a small part of the rot and further makes it harder to get any form of transport.

And what do they go and do? Buy more police cars. At least I hope this means that when I have an emergency and call them they will be able to attend instead of asking me to come pick them up.. And afterwards, I hope they also buy ambulances for our hospitals and make public transport more accessible so one does not constantly have to worry about being robbed, raped and dumped by the roadside..

Forewhat?

Fortunately the spelling anomalies done by the contractor have been corrected as notified by the twitter account for the Zimbabwe Republic Police who thanked members of the public for their observations. I am just here having my coffee waiting for the sun.

If you were having coffee with me I would tell you that our president is set to jet off to the inauguration of the Zambian President and hopes to work with him closely as he mentioned in a communique which came several days after the elections with people even beginning to wonder if the was a reason he took that long compared to the opposition party leader who gave immediate congratulations to the president-elect and has claimed him as a close connection… Both of them are attending the inauguration.

Zambia’s incoming president Hakainde Hichilema has also invited opposition leaders from several countries including Botswana, Tanzania and Zimbabwe setting a historic precedent. I hope this puts us on a course where our leaders are able to objectively converse on a way forward regardless of political aspirations. More the reason to see what happens or doesn’t happen during the inauguration.

Anyhoo, with schools having been closed because of lockdown my niece has picked up an interesting hobby; drawing some comic strips.. I see the storytelling and creativity is passing along and hope that its something we can nurture…. Apparently, that is a series called Ninja Sisters, I couldn’t quite make out the text and there’s typos but to hear her narrate the plot, you can tell a lot of thought and creativity went into it…

You cant see the sun if you don’t open your eyes, whats been going on in your neck of the woods?

  1. So sunflowers face themselves in the sun’s absentia?! I bet whowever came up with that had the idea that they are gossiping about their mother – the sun; when the cat is away, the mice play!

Which brings my mind to something else, so what happens in the presence of the sun?

  2. Hi B,
I hope they can sort out the taxi problems. What a bummer man, not being able to get a decent ride to town. Your niece is so creative!! That’s a very elaborate and detailed comic strip. How FUN!! Love all the colors she used too. It’s been an incredibly busy summer for me here so trying to keep up with everything! Thank you for the coffee, and have a good week! ~D 🤠

    1. Too ahead of his league 🤣🤣

The idea behind the transport was first of all due to corona lockdown which was also used to ban private transport of people except for those registered to be under the government owned ZUPCO franchise which was said to be to be ensure uniformness and regularisation of the transport industry and yeah it had been a bit of a wild jingle with mini van taxis violating traffic rules and driving recklessly…

      Sunflowers are awesome
