House Of Zwide Ending In June
Another popular e.tv soapie faces the axe…
After a five-season run, House of Zwide will not be renewed for another season, with its final episode set to air on 26 June 2026, while Kelders van Geheime concludes on 28 August 2026. According to a statement from the broadcaster, both series were designed to reach natural endings rather than be overstretched.
“Concluding them at their creative peaks, rather than stretching beyond their intended arcs, reflects e.tv’s commitment to quality storytelling and respect for its audiences.”

The conclusion of these shows is expected to open the door for exciting new stories on the e.tv channel.
House of Zwide is a South African television drama co-produced by The Bomb Shelter and Videovision Entertainment for e.tv. The series premiered on 19 July 2021, replacing Rhythm City, which starred the late Jamie Bartlett as the iconic David Genaro.
The story revolved around the glamorous yet cut-throat world of fashion, centred on the House of Zwide, owned by fashion mogul Funani Zwide, played by Vusi Kunene, and his wife Faith Zwide, portrayed by Winnie Ntshaba, alongside rising fashionista Onalerona Molapo, played by Nefisa Mkhabela. Onalerona dreams of interning at House of Zwide, unaware that she is in fact the long-lost daughter of Funani Zwide, presumed dead and the man she adores as her father was the hitman who stole her as a baby.
Over time, the truth inevitably surfaced, and the storyline moved onto new plots set against the bold, colourful world of the fashion business, which world that, at times, proven to be a literal killer.
While the show may have run its course regarding Onalerona’s central arc, it continued to deliver intriguing twists and turns, with the potential to run indefinitely like any good soapie.
With e.tv Scandal! also ending later this year, that makes two of my favourite soapies coming to a close. Hopefully, their replacements will be able to fill the shoes they leave behind.
