I burnt myself while barbecuing.
The chicken was sizzling, the marinade was dripping, and I was tending to the charcoals with the devotion of a man tending a shrine.

The flame, decided to reach out and touch me. Not harmfully, just… a courtesy tap. A “hello, remember me?”
Instinctively, I licked my well-marinated fingers to soothe the burn. I must confess: I tasted delicious. Smoky flavour, with a hint of lemon and herb. Rating: Four Stars. Would burn again for the marinade alone.
Note to self… better seasoned than the chicken.
Is this how it starts? One moment you’re a humble home chef, the next you’re sliding down the slippery slope of self-seasoning and before you know it, bodies are piling up, Interpol is looking for you and Netflix is asking for film rights.
Somewhere, Hannibal Lecter reads this and simply nods. Fava beans optional. Chianti recommended. 🥂
