If you were having coffee with me I would be glad to have you visit, whats been happening on your side?

I saw a train the other day, I was mildly surprised as I thought our railway systems had practically been grounded, the last time I went to the train station, it didn’t look too good but it would be a great set for a photoshoot if one was going for that derelict look…
A tweet by a local journalist which seemed to insinuate an employee from the NRZ couldnt be trusted, caused some ripples as the railway parastatal came out guns blazing to set the record straight…
I have seen the image before some time ago although I dont remember which country this railway incident happened its not Zimbabwe but the audacity to pull off such a heist… I would also never believe someone could try to pull off a Zombie heist movie, but well check out my last post on the review for The Army Of The Dead
If you were having coffee with me I would ask you if you have noticed I am posting a lot this month? Yeah we are having The Afrobloggers WinterABC a blogging festival and the first week has been awesome, Creatives Week

For creatives week I wrote the following:
•Beaton’s Cut Emoyeni Interview – Extended version of a Twitter Interview I had
•Wazi Vision: Alkebulan’s Flame – Peek at a project to design Afrocentric eye wear
•The Stone Whisperer of Harare – Meet David Ngwerume, a visual artist
•Coffee with The Afrodiva – A coffee chat with Pamhidzai owner of The Afrodiva
And of course let me plug a few posts by some from the Afrobloggers blogging community taking part in the WinterABC:
Miss Nsatu has a post which does a most excellent job of summarising common themes which have been shared in the first week of the WinterABC; Creative Week Recap and highlights
Lebogang Shazzygal Malatji from South Africa wrote a post which Quotes Creatives who are taking part in the WinterABC.
Sihlobo from Zimbabwe shared a post to Meet The peers from the Emoyeni Digital Masterclass, my Beaton’s cut interview is from the Masterclass.
Justine Love Nuwamanya from Uganda shared a post with some Creatives That She follows… and guess who made top of that list ha!
If you are curious about the Zambian creatives Wonani curated a list of Zambian Creatives you should know
HeyAnci from Zimbabwe has a rant on Zimbabwean Book influencers needing recognition and its something very close to my heart as you may notice I review books, and its usually a thankless labour of love…
These are only a tip of the iceberg you can check out a list of the Afrobloggers WinterABC Participants here.
If you were having coffee I would tell you how the internet makes it possible to meet and know all these wonderful people… What would you do if you woke up and was made illegal to tweet in your country, or you wouldnt even miss Twitter?
That’s the hot news in Nigeria after service providers were ordered to restrict access to Twitter and the directive issued that anyone caught tweeting would be liable to persecution… I mean prosecution.. or did I?
If you are having coffee with me I would tell you that the law of unintended consequences is setting on after the announcement of Statutory Instrument 127 of 2021 a week ago… the market is reacting and prices of things are just going up left right and center, its insane.. When I last filled my LP gas it was at $1.35 a kg and now its $2.OO my supplier just shook his head and said… it is, what it is, cant be helped… *sigh*
Meanwhile our City Fathers seem to be on some serious rampage, prohibiting things, making overnight policy changes and charging license fees for everything and anything…
If you were having coffee with me I would tell you that sometimes I wonder how much people can take, until…. Remember the Statue of Mbuya Nehanda that I mentioned in Coffee With Unveilings, yeah a teachers union decided to stage a flash protest at the base of the statue. Imploring the spirit of Mbuya Nehanda to help the education sector….

Wouldn’t it be ironic if the statue unveiled by the government became a rallying point for resistance? Let me count how many heartbeats it will take before the governments announces for security reasons it will be illegal to loiter or congregate at the statue? You know, because COVID…
Whats been happening in your neck of the woods?
