It’s the silly season, love is in the air, while some are falling in love, others are falling out of love. Kae Chaps a Zimbabwe Hip Hop award nominee has gone viral with a lockdown session of a soulful break-up song, with fire vocals, Juzi.

Long and short of it, he’s just saying come get your jersey, cause I am done with this love stuff, matter fact why do people even do this… Its funny, its relatable, its raw, its cathartic…. Kae Chaps might just be the new King of Heartbreak.
And as usual, I took the liberty of writing down and translating the lyrics, you are welcome.
Usanetseka I’ll be fine
Don’t worry, I’ll be fine
Its just a matter of time
Chete chete ko handi ndizvo zvawakada
Just that isnt that what you wanted
Plus kudzidza hakumbopere
Plus learning never stops
Mwari anenge ane chinangwa
God has a plan
Chigumbu handina asi ndichiri ndakatsamwa
I dont hold a grudge but I’m still angry
Ungandirova zigumegi, believe it
You hurt me badly, believe it
Kuita kundi dhomotsa you played, Deceiver
Got me twisted up, you played me, Deceiver
Wakandirakidza zveshuwa kuti uri mwana wa Eva
You showed me for real you a daughter of Eve
Ndine maghost ari kunditsoma kumba kwedu saka;
I have ghosts haunting me at home so;
Dzoka utore juzi rako
Come back and take your jersey
Rawakanganwa
That you forgot
Ndikaritaria ndoshaya rugare
When I look at it, I get upset
Utore nhumbi dzako
Take your clothes
Dzawakasiya mumba mangu
That you left in my home
Ndikadzitarira ndosaya rugare
When I look at them, I get upset
Wakati ukuda attention
You said you wanted attention
I gave you the shit
I’m broke from all the dreams that you were selling me
Uri mboko yemunhu
You a @#$%%^ of a person
I felt I should tell you this
But nyangwe zvazvo hatisi ma enemies
But even though, we aren’t enemies
Zvakare ndezvakare ngatimbozvisiye
Past is in the past lets leave it there
Zverudo zvacho taimboizviitirei?
This love stuff, why did we do it?
Ko dai wakandiudza kuti haudi waibvei?
If you had told me, you don’t want, what would you have lost?
Now chandokumbira kuti
Now all I ask is
Utore juzi rako
Take that jersey of yours
Rawakanganwa
That you forgot
Ndikaritaria ndoshaya rugare
When I look at it I get upset
Utore nhumbi dzako
Take your clothes
Dzawakasiya mumba mangu
That you left in my home
Ndikadzitarira ndoshaya rugare
When I look at them I get upset
Utore juzi rako
Take your jersey
Rawakanganwa
That you forgot
Ndikaritarira ndoshaya rugare
When I look at it I get upset
Utore nhumbi dzako
Take your clothes
Dzawakasiya mumba mangu
That you left in my home
Ndikadzitarira…
When I look at them…
Zvichimboitirwei?
Why is it done?
Zverudo zvacho
This love thing
Taizviitirei?
Why we do it?
Zvichimboitirwei?
Why is it done?
Zverudo zvacho
This love thing
Dzoka utore juzi rako
Come back and take your jersey
Rawakanganwa
That you forgot
Ndikaritaria ndoshaya rugare
When I look at it I get upset
Utore nhumbi dzako
Take your clothes
Dzawakasiya mumba mangu iwe
That you left in my home
Ndikadzitarira ndosaya rugare
When I look at them I get upset
Utore juzi rako
Take that jersey of yours
Rawakanganwa
That you forgot
Ndikaritarira ndoshaya rugare
When I look at it I get upset
Utore nhumbi dzako
Take your clothes
Dzawakasiya mumba mangu iwe
That you left in my home
Ndikadzitarira ndosaya rugare
When I look at them I get upset
Wrote the lyrics the hard way by playing it over and over again, my neighbours must think I am going through a break up, but lets face Kae Chaps makes break ups so in vogue.
hahahahah don’t worry about your neighbors. Thanks for sharing the song.

🤣🤣🤣 not sure if one is supposed to enjoy a break up sing song but there’s just something about this song… Am curious if it transcends language though I tried to translate so others can get a better feel for it….

Great song, thanks for sharing, love the effort you went to, to translate for us. I listened without the words, I definitely think it transcends language. Raw talent. Brilliant.

🥺 I love the songggg! The first song I listened to today, and I felt every bit of it. I guess for some valentine’s also remind them of heartbreaks. Thanks for sharing, B.

Have never tried wireless ear buds… Clearly
How functional are they, in my head I always treat them like just something for show like those Bluetooth headsets people used to flex with back in the day 🤣🤣🤣 what ever happened to those…. Or they became wireless ear buds.. I also worry about the batteries 🤔

They come with a charging case. But that’s a story for yet another one of your blog posts. BT Headsets are still there but these ones would certainly help with the locs situation…

it was a mix of language, no? I heard some English phrases. Thank you for translating. Lyrics are so very important in Hip Hop. I would have guessed breakup song by his soulful demeanor though. Thanks for showing me things that are new to me. It’s good to know what’s out there.

Yes, there’s a language mix..
While the music may transcend language, the lyrics really bring it to life and you get the story behind the lyricism.
You are welcome and thank you.
