Of Playing At Poetry

Write me a poem,
I’ll pay for it with a smile,
the rare kind,
A smile with fire
that puts the sun to shame

Your form of payment
will in no way pay my rent
I shall write you a poem, no stress
For your smile, no less

I would pay your rent,
but you live in my heart,
it’s free like the breeze.

I thank you for the offer
I’ll need just one more favor
That I reside in your 💜 forever
See there’s no other place
I’d like to live

A poetic exchange with Mable.
