Today I received one of those emails you open with half a breath held. It was in response to an application I had submitted in the spirit of “let me just try and see”
It has passed the eligibility review and moved on to the next stage of consideration.
There is a peculiar kind of validation in being told you’ve “passed eligibility.” Not quite a win, not quite a maybe, but enough to confirm that what you are building is legible beyond your own tangle of words.
Now comes the hard part, the waiting. The sitting with possibility without collapsing into either certainty or doubt. The continuing to show up, write and build, while wondering what comes next.
Managing expectations is its own art. I know how gutted I will feel should the next email begin with “we regret to inform you.” But for now, I hold onto the fact that this stage itself is a kind of recognition.
Regardless of the outcome, what happens, happens for a reason, it may not be immediately visible, but its there, weaving the threads of possibility into the larger tapestry of… becoming.
