Of Sam and Dean Winchester in a From Crossover

Sam and Dean Winchester in a From Crossover

FROM has become the show everyone loves to hate, a mystery box series that leaves more questions than answers with every episode. The running joke is that even the writers have no idea what happens next and are simply winging it.

With only one episode remaining this season, it is already clear that it will end on a massive cliff-hanger that will run circles around the fan theories currently doing the rounds.

So when someone posed the question, “How long would it take Sam and Dean Winchester from Supernatural to solve the mystery of FROM?” I couldn’t resist thinking it through.

Sam and Dean Winchester in From

The series would probably be a limited series covering about a week, give or take how distracted Dean would get with a waitress in the Diner.

Here’s the thing, several characters in FROM spend a considerable amount of time simply coming to terms with the fact that they are trapped in a cursed town with monsters. Sam and Dean would need no such convincing.

Dean would probably mutter “Pocket dimension or time loop” and upon learning that the creatures only come out at night and cannot enter a house without being invited in, Sam would be cross-checking his notes…  “Vampire-adjacent. Invitation rule. Possible folkloric binding.”

Talismans From Series

Next they would examine the talismans and ask Boyd where and how he got them. Boyd would cover the ground that took us 2 seasons to learn. They’d then round up everyone to gather their stories and have a working theory of what they’re dealing with.

By nightfall Dean would be out monster hunting, testing out bullets, garlic, and stakes through the heart. After observing how the monsters like to play with their prey, they would establish that they were once human, which would reinforce the theory of a curse and possibly a bargain with a supernatural entity gone sideways… The Winchesters arernt strangers to such cases

Monsters in From

After a few nights of this, Dean would want to burn everything down on the reasonable theory that if there is a curse, burning it down breaks it too. Sam would caution that “in situations like this, the way you do something matters just as much as what you do.”

Their modus operandi is research, followed by reckless action.

Pretty much on brand.

In a week, they’d have wrapped up this series and filed the experience under “weird town, weird monsters” and never look back.

Meanwhile, the rest of us are still here, theorising, rewatching, and waiting for that final season.

I’m currently working my way through Supernatural on Prime. I’m in the post-Leviathan stage and not exactly sure what they’re doing. Season 8 or 9 I think? storywise, they seem to be flailing around a lot.

But your take on how they’d handle this seems spot on, hahahaha 😀
