The Four Of Us South African Telenovela

Its been a week since Scandal! On eTV aired its final episode after a 22-year run…

A new soapie The Four Of Us has taken the 8pm Weekday primetime slot on eTV and while its still early days, the show kicked off to a promising start.

The Four Of Us

The Four of Us is a South African telenovela and family drama produced by Tshedza Pictures that premiered on eTV on 29 June 2026. Netflix acquired distribution rights ahead of its release, marking a first; where a South African telenovela is dual-released, allowing audiences to watch the series not only locally but also on a global streaming platform.

This marks the beginning of a new era because soapies have mostly lived on local screens and rarely travelled beyond borders. This also comes at a timely moment when The Polygamist is topping Netflix Global charts.

The Four Of Us is centred around the Dhlomo family, bound by blood, but divided by ambition and family grudges. After their father’s death, four siblings seek wealth, power and control of their family legacy.

The Four Us Cast

Sindi Dlathu takes on the role of Busani Dhlomo, the strong-willed eldest sibling whose life has been defined by the weight of family responsibility and  every sacrifice she has made has been for the good of the family, even when it came at great personal cost.

Fresh from his role of Jonasi Gomora in The Polygamist, Sdumo Mtshali plays Bobbi Dhlomo, a charismatic and ambitious man determined to step out the shadow of his sister’s success and claim his place as the head of the family.

Thembinkosi Mthembu stars as Banzi Dhlomo, the often-overlooked middle sibling whose yearning for validation and a sense of belonging drives much of the family’s emotional turmoil.

Kealeboga Masango portrays the youngest Dhlomo sibling, Balungile a free-spirited soul in pursuit of freedom, pleasure, and new experiences.

Dumisani Dlamini is Papi, an uncle who believes he was robbed of what was rightfully his and is prepared to reclaim it at any cost… alongside his fiercely loyal daughter Bassie played by Nthabiseng Kgosana ready to do whatever it takes.

It starts with a funeral, n opening gambit that feels familiar, as The Polygamist also opened the same way. From the moment the will is read, and Bobbi is named the heir instead of Busani, it is clear the decision will not go uncontested….
