If you cannot be King of the hill, Be the master of your will, even if you are a scrub by the stream, be the best scrub by the rill, and so long as you can dream, dream that you are majestic tree offering comfort and wisdom as you deem. If you cannot be a tree be a bush, but not just any bush, be a rosebush, if you cannot be a bush be grass, but be like grass on a mountainside pass, own the greenery, liven the scenery, be anything, not just something, BE.
Beaton,
Your poem “Of The Majestic Within” is a beautiful, empowering reflection on purpose and individuality. Its progression from grand imagery to the most minor roles reminds us that every position in life holds value when embraced with effort and care.
As someone who regularly reviews poetry, I was deeply moved by your work and shared my reflections here: https://adamfenner.wordpress.com/2025/01/20/of-the-majestic-within-reviewed/
Thank you for sharing this inspiring piece—I look forward to reading more of your poetry. Best, Adam
