Of Wild Is Life

Wild is life is a 2019 track by Daniel Deuschle a singer, songwriter, and producer raised in Zimbabwe.

I first heard the song when I attended the Africaniwa May 2021 Exhibition where I had be invited to share my hair experience in HairXpress Yourself. Its been on my repeated playlist ever since.

Its enchanting melody feels akin to your soul being set free into the wild and taken on a journey to the place you call home. The soulful vocals blend with the tribal rhythms that make one nostalgic of a time you never lived and homesick for a place you have never left or been…

Ndafunga Kumusha” means thinking of home, but not just any home, where you come from, where your roots are.

Wild is Life is an embodiment of Africa’s softness and strength, and a profound declaration of love to the continent’s captivating nature.

Daniel Deuschle

If my blog could have a soundtrack embeded to it, it would be this…. So as you browse through the beauty and chaos of the place I call home… you can imagine this song playing or was playing in the background as I drafted.

What do you think of this track?

Quick question for fellow bloggers what song do you feel embodies your blog?

I am not sure if I could pick one song. I listen to a variety of music.

I get you. Lets see, how about a random list of about three – five you repeatedly listen to. Want to see something 😆

    B. This song is amazing. So enchanting and moving. I am adding this comment more than a year after you first posted this captivating music. I had ‘starred’ it and kept it in my inbox because I wanted to listen but ‘didn’t have time’ when it first arrived. So, so glad I finally re-discovered it in the ‘bottom’ of my inbox. Wow.

Don’t know if I ever told you this, but I spent several weeks in Lusaka back in 1997 for work. Among the most incredible experiences of my life. We spent our nights at the Lilayi Lodge, which was, you know, nice… but not quite real if you know what I mean. We took the time to go down to Victoria Falls. I hiked down to the bottom, below the bridge between Zimbabwe and Zambia. Unforgettable. We drank a few Mosi and savored our experiences.

Watching this video, listening to Daniel’s music, incredibly made me long for ‘home,’ too.

    Thank you. ~Ed.
