Jeepers: Creepers Reborn is a 2022 Supernatural/Horror movie directed by Timo Vuorensola and written by Jake Seal and Sean-Michael Argo. Its supposed to be a reboot/reborn of the Jeepers Creepers film series and released on 19 September 2022.

The premise of the story is that a couple attend a festival for horror nerds and the Creeper comes creeping.
This movie was set to be the start of a new trilogy in a new Jeepers Creepers series which would be a separate production unrelated to the previous ones, rejuvenate the franchise, especially after the epic failure that was Jeepers Creepers 3. It was also meant to distance itself from the fallout on bad publicity behind the original director having been exposed as a convicted sexual offender. The new directors had even stated that he would not be involved nor benefit in any way from the reboot film series.
The Good
The opening sequence is a throwback to the opening sequence in the first Jeepers Creepers movie, driving past the same/similar stretch of highway past the Creeper church and have a scary encounter with the Creeper truck and same license plate BEATNGU

That actually made me go back and watch the first movie again with an appreciation of how well put together that original film was in plot, scare factor and all round badassery. 🎦

The Bad
The acting is terrible, the dialogue felt forced and awkward as if they didn’t know when their cue to speak was up. The chemistry between the lead characters was… missing. They seemed incompatible as a couple, I was not rooting for them.

The plot is held together with a shoe-string and unravels to an unsatisfying ending, maybe they hoped they could explain away any loose ends in the next movie(s)
The Ugly
Just like the Creeper comes from hibernation after 23 years to kill for 23 days, they should wait another 23 years before attempting to make another Creeper movie.
[spoiler alert] they kill the creeper and it doesn’t die
How do you like those peepers b****
Final Thoughts
I rewatched the first Jeepers Creepers movie to wash away the taste of this one… Watch this movie if you are extremely charitable and or in film school looking for an instructional lesson on how to not make a reboot movie of a cult classic on a b grade budget.
Have you watched any of the Jeepers Creepers movies? Will you or have you watched this one?
