25 posts, one post a day, celebrating the best of 2018 #BOTY2018

From the top of my head I can not come up with a single non-fiction book that I read this year…..
Lets just say the best way to get me to not read a book is to tell me its non-fiction book; especially of the self-help/motivational variety, I find most of these rather draining than inspirational. My artistic sensitivities are somewhat offended by the condescending attitude I perceive in between the subtext, when authors are basically telling you that your mind is the architect of all your suffering and try to shock treat you into an attitude adjustment…….
But I still appreciate the benefits of a nicely put together non-fiction, with a great background story; here’s a quick run down of my non-fiction list, past present and future. (click image to go my review)
On The Other Hand The Little Anthology Of Big Questions By Renée Paule
On the other hand is a “tiny” book of questions, it doesn’t have the answers, only questions.
Through the Author’s journey to learn who they are we also ask ourselves challenging questions about the things we have always accepted without question.
Girls With Sky In Their Eyes By Chiseche
This is a very short poetry book but the stories told are real. Even if you think you arent into poetry I recommend you invest a few minutes to read this
I always knew that this was a collection directed towards girls….but men and boys are also encouraged to read it! For me, the sky is a representation of so many things; hope, limitlessness, the world, heaven
So…it’s a representation of those who have a steady eye on hope despite whatever is going on around them

The next book is on my to be read list, Vagabond wandering through Africa on faith by Lerato Mogoatlhe
Lerato quit her job and spent five years drifting through 21 countries of Africa. The book is a travel memoir, capturing Africa beyond doom and gloom: Africa with love, humour and dignity. Lerato is funny and witty and can weave a crazy story, so even though I said I stay away from non-fiction I am huge fan of and cant resist a great story. The book is available to preorder at HERE
And also its my mum’s birthday today. Happy Birthday ^_^
Her handbag is sermon. If you can read, it carries a message;
A message of His infinite forgiveness:
Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD.“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”
They say He works in mysterious ways and if something as simple as handbag can carry a message what about His wonderful creation…….
