Man vs Baby Series Review

Man Vs. Baby is a British comedy television miniseries created and written by Rowan Atkinson and William Davies. It is a follow-up to the 2022 Man vs. Bee, with Atkinson reprises his role as Trevor Bingley.  Man vs. Baby premiered on Netflix on 11 December 2025.

Trevor Bingley gets a lucrative job offer to house sit a penthouse over Christmas and an unexpected companion tags along for a hilariously chaotic adventure.

It’s a Rowan Atkinson series returning to a leading role in a comedy series in 3 years.

Rowan Atkinson as Trevor Bingley

Man vs Baby is a timely holiday watch for laughs with the whole family as Rowan Atkinson channels his delightfully lovable and socially awkward Mr Bean energy, longtime fans can even pick up on his signature comic expressions. And there an easter egg moment when he is referred to as Mr Bin Glee

With four episodes averaging 30 minutes its an easy binge watch that leaves you wondering why they didn’t add more episodes, like a good guest who knows when to leave.. small surprise, its currently at the top of the Netflix charts.

If you have seen Man vs Bee, this one isn’t that different, making it highly predictable; you can see the punchlines before they land, in what feels like a rehash of the 90s classic Baby’s Day Out featuring Mr Bean.

The plot, while hilarious, is paper-thin, fuelled only by Rowan Atkinson’s charisma, viewers who are not fans of the actor’s brand of humour, might find it a tedious watch, nor gain a newfound appreciation of his work.

The baby is treated more as a comedy prop for laughs than an actual character and the series could have had a bit more heart if they gave the baby a bit more agency and emotional presence.

Understandably working with toddlers is hard; thus, there’s some creative use of CGI, although they tried to keep it as real possible, sometimes one felt the baby was a little… off.. The baby is somewhat real… they used twins and baby body doubles.

Some of the gags can run a bit too long, its a good thing the miniseries only has 4 episodes, although it ends rather abruptly, leaving several key questions unanswered….

’Tis the season to be jolly, and Man vs. Baby delivers a dose of good old-fashioned Mr Bean–style fun that most viewers can enjoy. It’s not groundbreaking, nor particularly memorable, but it does offer a handful of solid laughs, perfect for light, festive viewing.

Have you watched Man vs Baby yet? Are you a fan of any of Rowan Atkinson’s works.

I liked Black Adder, but Mr Bean gave me second hand embarrasment for Atkinson, so I wasn’t able to really enjoy that series.
