Bloodsong of Wycaro is a book by Carol Sturka the bestselling creator of the epic fantasy series Winds of Wycaro. Bloodsong of Wycaro is the fourth instalment of the book series.

Take sail with Lucasia, Captain of the duneship Mercator, as she traverses the amaranthine sands of Wycaro seeking a cure for the insidious illness felling her crew. As Lucasia navigates a treacherous storm, she is haunted by memories of Raban, the rogue who stole her heart before walking the plank. Seething with passions which cry for release, she soon learns the only thing worse than finding yourself alone in the dark…is discovering you’re not alone.
In the opening episode of Pluribus (an Apple TV sci-fi post-apocalyptic series created by Vince Gilligan) Carol (played by Rhea Seehorn), reads an excerpt from her book Bloodsong of Wycaro during a book signing.

Needless to say that Bloodsong of Wycaro is a fictional fantasy book written by a fictional character inside of a television series. The author and her book are a key component of the plot so one cant help but be curious about it…
Watching the first episode of Pluribus I had a random thought that, “You know what, if this book series existed in the real I would be tempted to read it.” Translation: I’d probably buy it, stack it on the shelf, and then let it gather dust while I thought about reviewing it some day.
So I paused watching to search for the title, and lo and behold, an excerpt of the book is available to read on Apple Books. The 8-page excerpt of Chapter Sixteen, “The Isle of Sanantes.” also includes a Letter From The Author which addresses some of the concerns of her audience at the book reading.

Great marketing technique because nothing says “immersive storytelling” like a fictional author writing fictional letters to fictional fans about fictional pirates. 😂
Unfortunately, I couldn’t read the book at first, because I don’t have an Apple product that supports Apple Books. But after some digital gymnastics, namely calling a fried with an iPhone I got it. Are you’re similarly interested, refresh this page🔄️ and check the paragraph below. ⤵️
