If this were Christmas, I would have been Father Christmas, if this were a mafia outfit I would be The God Father, but I am a mortal with a blog and you can call me The Uncle Blog Father.
Happy New Year
Taking a peak at the stats my blog had a sharp rise in traffic in 2020.
I would want to attribute this to having adopted some sound blogging practices but to be honest I have more or less been doing what I have always been doing its just the world which has started noticing.
Lockdown probably played a part as the rise in traffic started around March of 2020
Incase you missed it I was awarded Blogger Of The year in the Zim Blog Awards hosted by Tribe Of Influencers.
Allow me to walk you through some posts from the past year which I would love for you to have look at In case you missed them:
The first post I wrote on the first day of Lockdown, Coffee With Lockdown. In hindsight, this post was written when lockdown seemed more like an inconvenience that would last about 21 days, and then they kept extending it till it had an indefinite end…
Of The Things In My Fridge is a satirical article on how sometimes Social Media can be like opening the fridge and hoping something has miraculously materialised in the fridge between now and the last time you checked.
Of Freedom’s Symmetry is a fictional account of the pets I have kept, inspired by Stephen King’s Pet Sematary. From the reviews I have received I can safely say its worth a read or two whether you are pet lover or just like a good story.
If a tree falls across the road blocking it… what would you do? In Of The Tree For The Forest I explore how different types of people would react to this situation, maybe I am trying to make a point, maybe I just have a runaway imagination, you read and be the judge…
A guiding principle I use in figuring out what to write about is that if a curious thought comes to my mind and I seek out the answer, then I will write about it. For example, I was curious why Africa is called Africa. I sought out the answer and wrote down my findings in Of Africa being Africa
I worry that one day all I have learnt will disappear just like the case of Africa being the cradle of mankind but here we still are, what happened to us and why I rather like the spelling of Africa with A Kay, Afrika.
I sometimes have conversations over coffee with people who pique my interest and post them as CoffeeChats and have conversed with a travelling artist regarded as Queen Of The Brush in Coffee With Aušrinė; then a lady who used to wake up and bake scones at 3 a.m. during the height of electricity shortages in Coffee With 3 am Scones and a chat with an avid supporter of the reading culture in Coffee With Kate.
These are only 10 of the 100+ articles I published this year so there’s a lot to catch up on you can check out my About Page for a rough guide on how my posts are classified and for your reading perusal to pick out the sections that best suit you, I recommend all.
Compliments of the New Year
~B
PS I am curious if you read any of these or anything else that comes to the top of your head when you think about my blog.
Your thoughts.. if you will?
