Of My Best Bloggers Of 2020

Coming to the end of my Best Of The Year series I cant call myself the uncle of bloggers if I don’t do a blog roll of blogs and bloggers who have made my blogging calendar awesome.

If you are looking for new bloggers to follow in 2021 you have come to the right place. I recommend you bookmark this post.

The first round of shout out goes to some of the new blogging friends I made in 2020

Brenda Nakandi a 6 ft tall Human who cycles and journals her experiences of Cycling In The Streets Of Kampala everything from night cycling without a headlights to being a female cyclist in Kampala, the treatment, gestures, verbal commentary. Her last post is about Cycling On A Night Of Terror: The Evening of Bobi Wine’s Arrest. Which gives a cyclist account of the day Bobi Wine was arrested.

And on that cycling track there’s Ms Dedeng of TheDedengblog who has an ode to her bicycle Just the Two Of Us but loves to walk, exploring the local hills in California while reminiscing stories of home  a small village in northeastern Uganda.

Lungile Shiburi who started a blog  KingLungi.wordpress.com 30 days before her 30th birthday with a 30 Before 30 blog post followed by a 3 post countdown to celebrate each decade of life and her most recent post is recap of the birthday celebrations 30 Days Of Being 30

Elle of EllesUnpopularopinions.com where she shares mindfulness, blogging tips and all things insignificantly beautiful. Her last post is Looking Back 2020 A year of challenges and gratitude

The next batch of shout outs goes to some of the bloggers I “met” during the 2020 Edition of the Afrobloggers Blogging Challenge in June, and 6 months later they now feel like family.

Connie Dia who blogs at BehindClosedScreens.wordpress.com who has just closed off the year with a Best Of The Year post BOTY 2020

Winnie Malinga  who blogs at WinnieMalinga.wordpress.com and was super proud to show off the badge she received upon completing the WinterABC challenge in her post Proud Member Of The Afrobloggers Family

Wonani of DoseofWonani.wordpress.com whose blog spreads positivity and personal growth from the perspective of real life experiences. Wonani’s last post is about 2020 and her 11 month blogging calendar, so will be on break till February 2021 while celebrating a 200 follower milestone so drop by and say hello on Christmas 2020+ Happy 2021

A blogger we have dubbed the King of collaborations and easily could be one blogger with most number of  collaborations Rodgers W. Wanambwa who blogs at WanamWorld.wordpress.com

This round of shout outs goes to bloggers whose posts I always read and look out for, whose sites feel like home.

Mable and her shiny new site at Amuron.com and you must absolutely check her latest post on How To Survive 2020

Melody Chingwaru who writes On Becoming at Melmching.wordpress.com one of her last post a reflection of the year 2020 What Was That

Tee Madzika whose Chronicles on teemadzika.wordpress.com high key feels like something parallel universe me would write, weird, very weird. Read this one about being a freelancer Chronicles of Ghost Writing

Benjamin Watch of Musanjufukavubu.wordpress.com who has grown into one the biggest cheerleaders for African Bloggers on his Twitter account.

And of course The Queen Of Consistency Joseyphina Amoako I cant even begin to come up witha specific article to tag just go to her site and be awed Joseyphina.wordpress.com

Team BlogIndaba you can just plug yourself

Next round of shout outs goes to those people who show up in my notifications so much that if I don’t see them in my comment mentions I want to launch a search party to see if everything is ok at home… even my stats agrees

Naturally I made the most number of comments on this blog ha!

Sam “Goldie” Kirk of dailyflabbergast.wordpress.com

See you on the other side.

~B

PS If somehow I left your blog behind my apologies, feel free to plug yourself and your blog in the comments issa blog party and when you visit a blog you discovered from this post and its comments section just mention that Uncle B sent you when you comment on their site so they will definitely show you the same energy.

🥺🥺 I’m not even sure why I’m in this blog but nevertheless, I am thankful for you and your writing. Clearly if I had a list of the best bloggers I met this year, which I will not have because everyone is great and unique in their own way!!, you are probably one of the closest to me that I have ever met. I’m very touched, thanks, B. 🥺💕

I tried extra hard to create a list which matches “new” blogs with some more seasoned bloggers and of course I picked those who were more likely to engage back so following these will definitely be worth your while 😉

So I am currently going through the blogs of the people you mentioned and I don’t understand how I made the list. I am so overwhelmed by the beautiful writing, I don’t know what I was even doing with my life before I joined WordPress.

I even want to visit Uganda now 🤭. Brenda’s post on the day Bobi Wine got arrested reminded me of the Fees Must Fall protest in SA. I need to write about my experience during those protests and how my parents thought I was going to die and how angry they were when they realised that I took my brother with me 😅.

I am now going on and on forever, but to conclude I want to go back to Twitter because of you and the most of the people mentioned here 😅. If I go crazy you guys will answer to my family because I left Twitter to preserve my mental health.

Awwwww…..Girlllllllllllllll, besides the riots due to the political wave currently pervading my country, Uganda is actually beautiful and the people are sooooo welcoming!!! so yes, you are welcome!!!

Also, other factors like the country’s norms and multitribalistic culture is worth exploring.

I used a complicated algorithm to decide who makes the list hahaha
mostly it was just vibes ^_^ I wanted to mix bloggers who might others have never met…

and each one here deserves it for one reason or the other and even better if breathes a different perspective into what you can do with your blog

Come over to the dark side on Twitter… actually if you ask me nicely I might teach you how to navigate Twitter in a way that does not stress your mental well being
        ~B

PS I sooo want to visit Uganda too I think a large fraction of bloggers on this list are from there.
