If you were having coffee with, I would be pleased you are here, just like I would be pleased to say goodbye to 2019 and hoped 2020 would treat us kinder…
If you were having coffee with me, I would tell you I completed a 25 day blog everyday challenge and it was a fun exercise, I made a thread of the posts on Twitter if you ever want to check out what you missed.
If you were having coffee with me, I would tell you I made an interesting discovery while blogging everyday and its that the hardest line is the first one and after that I literally have to force myself to come to a conclusion with a post that’s supposed to be a simple 300 words ending up 500+
Maybe I was unconsciously rushing to have an average wordcount that was not such an evil symmetry.
If you were having coffee with me, I would tell you that while drafting my ideas for posts I have also come to realise, I have a lot of subtext, a post about something is always about something else for example this one is supposed to be about how now that I have finished my blogging challenge, I should take a break to reflect, recharge and reboot into the New Year…
If you were having coffee with me, I would tell you that speaking of taking a break, do you know who else has not yet taken their annual leave, our President. Curiously ever since November when the Vice-President returned from a six month medical absence in China, this has been the longest stretch of time the President has spent in the country without jetting off on private charter on a state visit or other. The Vice-President is a retired army general who was instrumental in the coup that was not a coup that resulted in Robert Mugabe’s “resignation.”
Vice-President’s return has been cause for a lot of talk and speculation, especially when one of the first things he did when he came back was to summarily start divorce proceedings and have his wife arrested for attempted murder of the Vice-President, fraud and money laundering of almost USD $1 million.
If you were having coffee with me I would tell you how state media has already started referring to the second lady (apparently that’s what you call the wife of the VP while the first lady is the president’s wife… who knew) by her maiden name as its said she forged the divorce to her ex- husband then forged marriage to theVice-president and was trying to finalise his will and then finish him off by disconnecting his life support after her poisoning attempt had failed.
Almost sounds like a plot with all the elements of an Agatha Christie novel, and so we are glued for the plot twist.
Some say this is all a ruse to distract us all from what’s really going on in the political corridors of power we focus on this one woman’s case to the exclusion of all else. Some are sympathizing with her plight and calling out the VP as a patriarchal misogynist for making such a grand spectacle of his divorce; while others are unsympathetic saying this is the bed she made for herself, now she must lay in it…..
Oh and the VP just left the country for a medical review in China and the Second Lady reported to be unwell in remand prison
If you were having coffee with me, I would tell you that there are Conspiracy Theories everywhere; and to check out Melody’s guest review of a one man stand-up comedy act by King Kandoro titled Conspiracy Theories and the DVD is coming soon
If you were having coffee with me, I would tell you for the first time since I can remember it did not rain this Christmas: to read the 25th post in the 25 days of holidays challenge, hit the image below:
This will probably be the last coffee I share with you this year (I wanted to say this decade but it seems to be a raging debate; when does the decade end; this year or next year?)
Wishing you all the best in the New Year
