I have had a blog for years and years and still I have not quite gotten round to calling myself a blogger, in my head I refer to myself:
as a writer with a blog.

Why did I start blogging?
Depending how you define blogging, then I have been blogging ever since I found out about internet cafes where you could go and pay for a session on a public computer and access the internet.
Before the internet I used to write “stuff” in lets just call them journals to sound fancy but they were really my school notebooks, read by mostly me. I even started working on a book, scifi project.
I have always been full of words that needed to be written down to create space for new ones.
Along came the internet and I discovered Friendster and then Hi5
I was there buried deep in the chat forums and groups posting the “stuff” from my notebooks and drafts. Back then we didn’t go on the internet on the regular, maybe once or twice a month, imagine waiting a month or more to get feedback.
And then there was Facebook the blue matrix that totally dominated the social media space. There is a Notes tab on Facebook and I used to publish posts there but I eventually out grew that space not to mention that I was not yet comfortable having friends and family read some of the things I had to say…
After a trial phase of various platforms, from the Opera Mini blogs to Geocities hosted pages, I eventually settled on WordPress and here I am, still.
Why did I start blogging? The simplest answer and most honest answer to that is because I had stories to tell and I wanted someone else to the read them.
